Gluten meal of liquid corn is one of the by-products of the corn, that is obtained from corn milling process to produce corn syrup. Corn syrup has rich fructose. For this purpose, the starch that produces energy is separated. Corn gluten meal is rich in protein (60%) and it is comparable to animal protein when dieting. Corn gluten meal is deficient in lysin. However, product is obtained with high-density of nutrients by use of synthetic lysin.
Corn gluten meal contains very large amounts of xanthophyll pigments (up to 300 mg\kg). it is a common food in poultry feeds and diets to make a proper color.
